When I’m away from the studio I usually make drawings and watercolours in hardback sketch books. These are direct and straight forward graphite outlines with washes of color, often added from memory. We are currently staying with family in California and enjoying good company and the extraordinary sights and size of the landscape. These drawings are from Bodie, a ghost town isolated high in the East Sierras, from the tufa stacks at Mono Lake and the cabin in Bear Valley.
